Understanding Journal Entry Reports

Journal reports detail all the self-reported language learning time you have submitted to {{#tlo}}Transparent Language Online{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}the CL-150{{/rr5}}. (Note: For instructions on making journal entries, consult Making Journal Entries. For instructions on adding words and phrases you learned from outside sources to your learned vocab in this program, consult Managing Learned Vocab Items.)

Note: Reporting will not be available in offline mode.

Note: The reporting features may not be available in all versions of the program and are not available for guest accounts.

To use the Journal Entry Report screen:

Read the information shown above the report:

Start Date - The first date included in the report.
End Date - The last date included in the report.
Language(s) - The language or languages included in the report.

Read the information in main section of the report:

The top part of the section will display overall information about your total number of journal entries and total amount of self-reported time.
The table will display each journal entry you have made, along with its date, time spent, source, domain, {{#rr5}}modality{{/rr5}}{{#tlo}}skill{{/tlo}}, and level.

If you want to preserve a copy of the report for a reference, do one of the following:

{{#web}}Click{{/web}}{{^web}}Tap{{/web}} CSV to save the report in CSV format. Note: If the report contains special characters, you will need to have appropriate font support on your computer to view them correctly in the CSV file.
{{#web}}Click{{/web}}{{^web}}Tap{{/web}} PDF to save the report as a PDF.

At any time, you can also{{#phone}} tap Goal to check your goal progress, tap to display your notifications, or tap Menu and{{/phone}} do any of the following:

Select SWITCH TO DESKTOP SITE to display the desktop version of this site instead of the mobile version. Be aware that some features may be difficult to use on a mobile device in this mode.
Select your username in the menu, then do any of the following:{{#tlo}} Select Profile to view or edit your user profile.{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}} Select Account Options to change your account options.{{/rr5}} Select Change Language to change the learning language. Select App Settings to change settings associated with this app on this device. Select Log Out to log out of the program. (These options may not all be available for all accounts.)
{{#web}}Click Learning in the top navigation bar{{/web}}{{#mobile}}Tap in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, then select Learning from the drop-down menu{{/mobile}}{{#phone}}Select Learning Path in the menu{{/phone}} to go to the Learning screen, where you can work with your learning path{{^phone}}, view your goals, refresh your learned vocab, and open practice activities{{/phone}}. Consult Using the Learning Screen for details.
Select Goals in the menu to go to the Goals screen, where you can view information on your daily learning goal, streaks, and shields{{#rr5}}, as well as any weekly or monthly learning requirements set for you by a reporting group administrator{{/rr5}}. Consult Understanding Learning Goals and Streaks{{#rr5}} and Understanding Learning Requirements{{/rr5}} for details.
Select Learned Vocab in the menu to go to the Learned Vocab screen, where you can view and refresh your learned vocab. Consult Managing Learned Vocab for details.
{{#web}}Click Browse in the top navigation bar{{/web}}{{#mobile}}Tap in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, then select Browse from the drop-down menu{{/mobile}}{{#phone}}Select Browse in the menu{{/phone}} to go to the Browse screen, where you can browse for additional lessons{{#tlo}} and references{{/tlo}} to learn. All lessons shown on this screen are included with {{#tlo}}Transparent Language Online{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}the CL-150{{/rr5}}, so feel free to explore them! Consult Using the Browse Screen for details.
{{#web}}Click Language Resources in the top navigation bar{{/web}}{{#mobile}}Tap in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, then select Language Resources from the drop-down menu{{/mobile}}{{#phone}}Select Language Resources in the menu{{/phone}} to go to the Language Resources screen. The resources vary by language, but may include language proficiency tests, overviews, alphabet exercises, cultural resources, language learning tips, grammar information, and more. Consult Using the Language Resources Screen for details. (This feature may not be available for all languages.)
{{#web}}Click Classes{{#rr5}} & Cohorts{{/rr5}} in the top navigation bar{{/web}}{{#mobile}}Tap in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, then select Classes{{#rr5}} & Cohorts{{/rr5}} from the drop-down menu{{/mobile}}{{#phone}}Select Classes{{#rr5}} & Cohorts{{/rr5}} in the menu{{/phone}} to display information on your current classes{{#rr5}}, reporting groups, and Cohorts{{/rr5}}, including whether you have assignments or messages. You can also{{#tlo}} use class codes to{{/tlo}} enroll in new classes{{#rr5}}, groups, or Cohorts{{/rr5}} if necessary. Consult Managing Classes{{#rr5}}, Groups, and Cohorts{{/rr5}} for details. (Not all users enroll in classes{{#rr5}}, groups, or Cohorts{{/rr5}}{{#tlo}}. This feature may not be available for all accounts or in all versions of the program{{/tlo}}.)
Click Reporting in the top navigation bar to make journal entries and run other reports. Consult Making Journal Entries and Choosing Reports for details.
Select Practice in the menu to go to the Practice screen, where you can choose activities to work with. Consult Choosing Content for Activities for details.
Select Hands-Free Autoplay in the menu to learn and review vocabulary without the need to interact with the screen. Consult Choosing Content for Hands-Free Autoplay for details. (This option may not be available for all accounts.)
{{#web}}Click Resources in the top navigation bar{{/web}}{{#phone}}Select Resources in the menu{{/phone}} to display information on additional language and culture resources. Depending on your language, you may find Facebook communities, Twitter feeds, culture blogs, Word of the Day services, proficiency tests, and more. Consult Using the Resources Screen for details. (Not all languages have additional resources.)
Tap in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, then select App Settings from the drop-down menu to change settings associated with {{#tlo}}Transparent Language Online{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}the CL-150{{/rr5}} on this device, such as push notifications. Consult Changing app settings for details.
Click KidSpeak in the top navigation bar to open the KidSpeak application. (This feature is not available for all languages.)
Click Authoring in the top navigation bar to make or edit your own lessons for use in the CL-150 Learning Application. Consult Authoring Lessons for details. (This option may not be available for all accounts.)

Consult the mini goal-tracker in the top navigation bar to check how close you are to completing your daily learning goal{{#rr5}}, as well as any weekly or monthly learning requirements set for you by a reporting group administrator. If you have more than one goal, the tracker will rotate between them{{/rr5}}. Consult Understanding Learning Goals and Streaks{{#rr5}} and Understanding Learning Requirements{{/rr5}} for details.
{{#web}}Click{{/web}}{{^web}}Tap{{/web}} the name of the current language at the top of the screen to change the language you are learning{{#tlo}}, if you have access to more than one language{{/tlo}}.{{#mobile}} In offline mode, only learning languages for which you have already downloaded lessons will appear.{{/mobile}}
Click Mobile Access in the upper right-hand part of the screen to display information on the mobile app associated with this program. (This option may not be available for all accounts.)
If you are logged in as an instructor or an administrator, click Learning Portal in the upper right-hand part of the screen and choose Instructor Portal or Admin Portal to access either of those portals. (These options may not be available for all accounts.)
Select Learning Language in the menu to change the language you are learning{{#tlo}}, if you have access to more than one language{{/tlo}}.
Click in the upper right-hand part of the screen, then do any of the following: Select {{#tlo}}Profile{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}Account Options{{/rr5}} to {{#tlo}}view or edit your user profile{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}change your account options{{/rr5}}, download completion certificates, and more. Select Change Language to change the learning language. Select Interface Options to change the interface language. Select Switch to Mobile Site to display the mobile version of this site instead of the desktop version. Select Log Out to log out of the program. (These options may not all be available for all accounts.)
Tap your username in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to {{#tlo}}view and edit your user profile{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}change your account options{{/rr5}} or log out of the program.{{#tlo}} (In offline mode, profiles can only be viewed, not edited.) If you are using a trial account, the menu under your username will also tell you how many days remain in your trial.{{/tlo}}
Click in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to display your notifications. A number or an exclamation point will appear beside the icon if new notifications have been added since the last time you checked. Consult Managing Notifications for details.
