Generating Journal Entry Reports

Journal reports detail all the self-reported language learning time you have submitted to {{#tlo}}Transparent Language Online{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}the CL-150{{/rr5}}. To run a journal report, you must enter information about the dates and languages to include. (Note: For instructions on making journal entries, consult Making Journal Entries.)

Note: Reporting will not be available in offline mode.

To generate a journal report:

Do one of the following to set the date range for this report:

Type a start date followed by a dash and then an end date in the Dates field. The default format for the dates is mm/dd/yyyy, but you can use dashes, dots, or other symbols between the month, day, and year information if you prefer. To run a report on a single day, type just a single date in the field.
{{#web}}Click{{/web}}{{^web}}Tap{{/web}} the Dates field, then select a date range by {{#web}}clicking{{/web}}{{^web}}tapping{{/web}} the dates on the calendars which appear. Select your start date first, then your end date. To run a report on a single day, {{#web}}click{{/web}}{{^web}}tap{{/web}} it twice on either calendar. You can use the and buttons to move from month to month if necessary.
{{#web}}Click{{/web}}{{^web}}Tap{{/web}} the Dates field, then select one of the commonly used date ranges in the menu beside the calendars. The dates for the selected option will automatically be entered into the field. Possible options include Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month, This Year, Last Week, Last Month, Last Year, and All Time.

Choose which languages should be included in the report:

Mark the All Known Languages checkbox if you want to include information on any known language. Alternatively, clear that checkbox and instead select a known language in the Select Known Language menu.
Mark the All Learning Languages checkbox if you want to include information on any learning language. Alternatively, clear that checkbox and instead select one or more languages in the Select Learning Language(s) menu.{{#web}} (You can hold down the Ctrl key or the Cmd key while you click to select more than one option.){{/web}}

If you want to report on all languages, mark the Report on All Languages checkbox.
If you prefer to choose a specific known language for this report, tap SELECT KNOWN LANGUAGE, then select a language.
If you prefer to choose specific learning languages for the report, tap SELECT LEARNING LANGUAGE(S), then select one or more languages.

When you have set all your options, {{#web}}click{{/web}}{{^web}}tap{{/web}} GENERATE REPORT.

At any time, you can also{{#phone}} tap Goal to check your goal progress, tap to display your notifications, or tap Menu and{{/phone}} do any of the following:

Select SWITCH TO DESKTOP SITE to display the desktop version of this site instead of the mobile version. Be aware that some features may be difficult to use on a mobile device in this mode.
Select your username in the menu, then do any of the following:{{#tlo}} Select Profile to view or edit your user profile.{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}} Select Account Options to change your account options.{{/rr5}} Select Change Language to change the learning language. Select App Settings to change settings associated with this app on this device. Select Log Out to log out of the program. (These options may not all be available for all accounts.)

Select Goals in the menu to go to the Goals screen, where you can view information on your daily learning goal, streaks, and shields{{#rr5}}, as well as any weekly or monthly learning requirements set for you by a reporting group administrator{{/rr5}}. Consult Understanding Learning Goals and Streaks{{#rr5}} and Understanding Learning Requirements{{/rr5}} for details.
Select Learned Vocab in the menu to go to the Learned Vocab screen, where you can view and refresh your learned vocab. Consult Managing Learned Vocab for details.

The resources vary by language, but may include language proficiency tests, overviews, alphabet exercises, cultural resources, language learning tips, grammar information, and more. You can also{{#tlo}} use class codes to{{/tlo}} enroll in new classes{{#rr5}}, groups, or Cohorts{{/rr5}} if necessary. Consult Managing Classes{{#rr5}}, Groups, and Cohorts{{/rr5}} for details. Click Reporting in the top navigation bar to make journal entries and run other reports. Consult Making Journal Entries and Choosing Reports for details.
Select Practice in the menu to go to the Practice screen, where you can choose activities to work with. Consult Choosing Content for Activities for details.
Select Hands-Free Autoplay in the menu to learn and review vocabulary without the need to interact with the screen. Consult Choosing Content for Hands-Free Autoplay for details. (This option may not be available for all accounts.)

Depending on your language, you may find Facebook communities, Twitter feeds, culture blogs, Word of the Day services, proficiency tests, and more. Consult Using the Resources Screen for details. Tap in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, then select App Settings from the drop-down menu to change settings associated with {{#tlo}}Transparent Language Online{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}the CL-150{{/rr5}} on this device, such as push notifications. Consult Changing app settings for details.
Click KidSpeak in the top navigation bar to open the KidSpeak application. (This feature is not available for all languages.)
Click Authoring in the top navigation bar to make or edit your own lessons for use in the CL-150 Learning Application. Consult Authoring Lessons for details. (This option may not be available for all accounts.)

Consult the mini goal-tracker in the top navigation bar to check how close you are to completing your daily learning goal{{#rr5}}, as well as any weekly or monthly learning requirements set for you by a reporting group administrator. If you have more than one goal, the tracker will rotate between them{{/rr5}}. Consult Understanding Learning Goals and Streaks{{#rr5}} and Understanding Learning Requirements{{/rr5}} for details.
{{#web}}Click{{/web}}{{^web}}Tap{{/web}} the name of the current language at the top of the screen to change the language you are learning{{#tlo}}, if you have access to more than one language{{/tlo}}.{{#mobile}} In offline mode, only learning languages for which you have already downloaded lessons will appear.{{/mobile}}
Click Mobile Access in the upper right-hand part of the screen to display information on the mobile app associated with this program. (This option may not be available for all accounts.)
If you are logged in as an instructor or an administrator, click Learning Portal in the upper right-hand part of the screen and choose Instructor Portal or Admin Portal to access either of those portals. (These options may not be available for all accounts.)
Select Learning Language in the menu to change the language you are learning{{#tlo}}, if you have access to more than one language{{/tlo}}.
Click in the upper right-hand part of the screen, then do any of the following: Select {{#tlo}}Profile{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}Account Options{{/rr5}} to {{#tlo}}view or edit your user profile{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}change your account options{{/rr5}}, download completion certificates, and more. Select Change Language to change the learning language. Select Interface Options to change the interface language. Select Switch to Mobile Site to display the mobile version of this site instead of the desktop version. Select Log Out to log out of the program. (These options may not all be available for all accounts.)
Tap your username in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to {{#tlo}}view and edit your user profile{{/tlo}}{{#rr5}}change your account options{{/rr5}} or log out of the program.{{#tlo}} (In offline mode, profiles can only be viewed, not edited.) If you are using a trial account, the menu under your username will also tell you how many days remain in your trial.{{/tlo}}
Click in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to display your notifications. A number or an exclamation point will appear beside the icon if new notifications have been added since the last time you checked. Consult Managing Notifications for details.
